Know Before You Go

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Welcome to Belfast!
The brand new city for European Dance Masters.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Belfast this week. We are excited to have a brand-new venue, in the heart of Belfast City, to host the World Dance Masters European Championships.

We know you are all going to love being in the city with an array of activities to do, places to eat, and sights to see when not competing, dancing, or spectating at the Europa!

With a new venue, we wanted to give you some advance notice on how the event may differ to previous years’ events.

The most important notes for the event can be found below. The tentative scheduled for the event can be found here.

  • The ballroom will be seated only

The venue ballroom will be seating only (no tables). Make sure you prepare in advance by  bringing to the ballroom only what is necessary. There will be no space for large suitcases or bags and you will be asked to store these in your hotel room or another space if you bring too much.

  • Seat saving policy

We are busier than ever this year! Due to the event's size and ballroom capacity, we will strictly enforce a no-seat-saving policy.

Coats, bags, and other items should not be placed on seats to reserve them for friends or family members who are not in the ballroom.

Please do welcome all dancers and guests to any available seats near to you. We expect to be completely full and there will be no room for empty seats.

  • Competitor staging & changing

The competitor changing and staging area must only be used by competitors dancing in the current and upcoming session. For extra comfortability and space, consider using your hotel room to get ready if you are staying in the host hotel.

  • Food and drink in the ballroom

Hot food should not be brought into the ballroom. Snacks and drinks are OK. The bar will be open from 12 p.m. each day.

The Europa Hotel is extremely well located to food and drink outlets around Belfast City or you can dine in the hotel restaurants.

  • International travellers require ETA

Remember, if you are travelling internationally to the UK, you will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) or Visa to enter the country from 2 April. It can take up to 3 days to gain approval.

    Check here for more information.

  • Parking in Belfast

Residents' parking at the Europa is £25 per day (valet parking included). Just drop your car at the front of the hotel. Additional parking is available in the city, including the following:
